In order to qualify for the CAWL final tournament a wrestler must :
1. weigh-in 3 times in total
2. 2 of the 3 weigh-in must be at scratch weight to wrestle that weight in the CAWL final.
3. wrestle a minimum of 5 matches (this include forfeits and exhibition matches)
When teams have to make weight on consecutive days, such as the teams that are wrestling on Saturday and Sunday we give every team reporting to a venue with a team that make weight the day prior an extra pound weight allowance (scratch weight + 1.4 pounds).
Please note that both Sunday venues this weekend (Jan. 8) qualify for the 1 pound weight allowance because each venue has a minimum of one team attending Sunday (Jan. 8) that wrestled Saturday. In other words, both venues will get the one pound weight allowance this weekend (scratch weight plus 1.4 pounds).
If your team is wrestling Sunday (Jan. 8) and a kid weighs in more than 0.4 pounds over scratch weight, this weigh in will count as a weigh in but not count as a weigh-in toward scratch weight. Thus each of these kids will need to weigh-in one more time at what we consider scratch weight (scratch weight plus a 0.4 scale allowance).
