The CAWL and MD/VA States Association weights for the wrestling season are:
50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 101, 108, 115, 122, 130, 140, 150, 170, AND 195 (200 for CAWL)
MAXIMUM AGE RESTRICTIONS
In the 50 pound weight class, a wrestler cannot be ten (10) on or before December 31
In the 55 pound weight class, a wrestler cannot be eleven (11) on or before December 31
In the 60 pound weight class, a wrestler cannot be twelve (12) on or before December 31
In the 65 & 70 pound weight class, a wrestler cannot be thirteen (13) on or before December 31
In the 75 & 80 pound weight classes, a wrestler cannot be fourteen (14) on or before December 31
In the 85 & 90 pound weight classes, a wrestler cannot be fifteen (15) on or before December 31
In the 95 through 195 (200 for CAWL) pound weight classes, a wrestler cannot be ten (16) on or before December 31
MINIMUM AGE RESTRICTIONS
THE FOLLOWING APPLY TO THE WEIGHT CLASSES LISTED, UNLESS WAIVED IN WRITING BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN-
In the 95 pound weight class, a wrestler must be nine (9) or older on or before December 31
In the 101 & 108 pound weight classes, a wrestler must be ten (10) or older on or before December 31
In the 115 & 122 pound weight classes, a wrestler must be eleven (11) or older on or before December 31
In the 130 through 195 (200 for CAWL) pound weight classes, a wrestler must be twelve (12) or older on or before December 31
NOTE: A one pound allowance can be given by
the Commissioner for loss of practice time due to the schools being closed
because of bad weather. This one pound is good for all wrestlers on that
weekend only. Coaches should check with the Commissioner first . . . do
not assume!
