Chris Serio Wrestling Clinic

Chris Serio is a 1st grade student at Hampstead Elementary School in Carroll County. At birth, Chris was diagnosed with Neutropenia, a blood disorder that causes a decrease in white blood cells and now has to take daily injections to increase the white blood cells within his body.   At one month old, Chris suffered a stroke which has impaired the right side of his body affecting the use of his arm and leg.  And on Nov. 25, 2008 Christopher was diagnosed with Leukemia and has been hospitalized ever since.

His mother stays with Chris during the week and his father works and cares for Chris's sister and brother.  Chris's father also undergoes kidney dialysis 3 to 4 times weekly.  On the weekend his parents must switch roles and Mrs. Serio goes home and Mr. Serio then stays with Chris so that she can spend time with her other children and so that Chris's Dad can spend sometime with Chris.

Chris has received a stem cell transplant and has endured Chemotherapy and though he has a long road ahead Chris continues to wrestle this disease.  Chris has never put on a singlet or a pair of wrestling shoes, has never stepped on a mat or stood on top of a podium, Chris is a true wrestler at heart for he has been wrestling with life since the day he was born.

All proceeds of this camp and its concessions will be donated to the Serio Family in honor of a true wrestler, Christopher Serio.  Please come out and support this extraordinary boy and learn some wrestling while your at it.  If you cannot make the camp but would like to make a donation please call 410.374.0789 (we will not place the Serio family address on this flyer for privacy reasons).
